The River View A stateroom is the most common cabin on Deck 1 of Celebrity’s river cruise ships, offering a comfortable waterline-level experience at the most accessible price point in the fleet. With 12 cabins per ship, River View A staterooms line the forward and midship sections of the River Deck and provide picture-window views of the passing scenery just above the waterline.

Cabin Numbers and Location

River View A staterooms are on Deck 1 (River Deck): 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, and 112. On the interactive deck plan, they’re shown in orange (#F37121). Odd numbers (101, 103, 105, 107, 109, 111) are on the port side; even numbers (102, 104, 106, 108, 110, 112) are on the starboard side. These occupy the forward two-thirds of Deck 1.

Stateroom Size and Layout

Each River View A cabin measures approximately 160–175 square feet. The layout includes a king-size bed (convertible to twins), a sitting area, writing desk, full bathroom, and flat-screen TV. Instead of a balcony, these cabins have a large fixed picture window that provides river views from a unique waterline perspective — you’re close enough to the water to hear it flowing past the hull.

The Waterline Experience

Deck 1 sits right at the waterline, which gives these cabins a character entirely different from the upper decks. The proximity to the water creates an intimate connection with the river — you can watch the current, see reflections on the surface, and feel closer to the landscape than any balcony cabin above. Many experienced river cruisers actually prefer this perspective. The lower deck also tends to have less motion, which some travelers find more comfortable for sleeping.

What’s Included

All standard Celebrity river cruise inclusions apply: complimentary stocked minibar replenished daily, premium bedding and linens, twice-daily housekeeping, flat-screen TV entertainment, daily shore excursions, all meals, select beverages, and complimentary WiFi. River View staterooms do not include butler service or priority excursion booking.

Best Cabin Picks

Cabins 105–108 are the midship options, offering the smoothest ride and most central location on Deck 1. 101 and 102 are the most forward, which means you hear slightly more water flow at the bow but also get first views of approaching scenery. 109–112 are further aft and closest to the stairwell leading up to Deck 2’s venues.

How It Compares

River View A is the entry-level cabin category on Celebrity’s river ships, priced below the River View B staterooms (which are in the aft section of Deck 1) and significantly below the Deck 2 balcony categories. The main trade-off versus a balcony cabin is the fixed window instead of an openable balcony — but the savings can be substantial, especially on peak-season sailings. All stateroom amenities (minibar, bedding, housekeeping) are the same across every cabin category.

Who Should Book River View A

This cabin is perfect for travelers who plan to spend most of their time exploring ports and enjoying the ship’s public spaces rather than sitting on a balcony. It’s also a smart choice for budget-conscious cruisers who want the Celebrity river experience without the premium for upper-deck balcony or suite categories. If you’ve cruised before and know you barely use your balcony, River View A gives you the same onboard experience at a lower fare.
